Our Story — A Tribute to Generations of Flavour
Welcome to Tinge of Turmeric, where every dish is a chapter in the story of the Reddy sisters and our lifelong passion for extraordinary food. We grew up in a family where the kitchen was the heart of the home and the women were its queens — and we learned early that the dishes we both adored were always the most special.
That shared love sparked the creation of Tinge of Turmeric: an authentic South Indian restaurant in Playa de las Américas, Tenerife, built around the recipes, spices and traditions we were raised on.
Our paths took us in different directions — one sister found love and settled in Spain, while the other travelled the world in search of her purpose. Yet our connection to food, and to each other, never faded. At Tinge of Turmeric, we bring those journeys together to create a menu as unique as our story, with South Indian dishes you won't find anywhere else on the island.
Step into our space and you'll feel it straight away — vibrant yellow walls accented with blue, pink and red, alive with the spirit of South Indian culture. It's warm, colourful and welcoming, exactly the way a meal should be.
We're proud of how we cook. Our vegetables and meat are locally sourced for freshness, while our spices are imported to bring you the deep, authentic flavours of South India. And because South Indian cooking is naturally rich in vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes, there's something extraordinary here for everyone at the table.
